Naomi Parker Fraley Education

The Naomi Parker Fraley Garden Project is an essential part of Riveter's educational initiatives. It helps students understand the origins of their food and the significant energy involved in its production. Through hands-on learning, students engage in creating the gardens, using mathematical concepts to plant seeds, nurture them into seedlings, and then transplant them into fertile soil. This experience provides them with valuable insights into both natural and commercial agricultural practices as they care for the garden.

Expert guest teachers in horticulture, along with community volunteers, share their knowledge and experiences with the students. Each student maintains a comprehensive project portfolio, documenting the growth and progress of their garden, including soil requirements and the effects of weather conditions. The benefits of this gardening education are immense, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for food cultivation.
